Draw formula

I'm using windows 8. I have a problem with symbol scaling in Math, a simple
formula as "y=sqrt{ x} < x <= x^2 " is draw in erroneous way, the symbols are
little respect the rest of formula. The symbol sqrt is draw with a break
between √ and overbar, √ and ≤ are smaller than necessary. What could be the
problem?
