I don't see that this was ever OK. But real problem is: this DOCX was created (wrongly with AutoShape) with older MSO 2007. It opens OK in MSO 2016. If resaved in newer MSO like 2016, it opens both in MSO and LO as the original one in LO, with 3rd page empty. So this is compatibility problem.
