I do not consider it as 'dirty'. Using a frame like text box is a LO specific
construct. Therefore it should only be used if it is absolutely necessary. As
long as the shape text is simple enough to be rendered with the shape text edit
engine, a frame like text box should not be used. This would have to be checked
when importing from OOXML.
I think, in long term the shape text engine should be extended to be able to
render text which has multiple paragraph styles and character anchored objects,
for example. So that these features can be used in the other modules too.
