          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 62084
          Keywords: regression
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: : Easy speed tweaks to make
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: All
          Reporter: roep...@lavabit.com
          Hardware: Other
        Whiteboard: BSA
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
         Component: Libreoffice
           Product: LibreOffice

I know LibreOffice is in no way intended to be a lightweight app, but there are
a couple of well-known speed tweaks that could be made to the default
installation to improve the LibreOffice apps' startup times and running speed:

1.) Regarding the Graphics Cache, increase the amount used for LibreOffice
(maybe to 128MB), and increase Memory Per Object (perhaps to 20MB). Most
computers that can run LibreOffice well have more than enough memory.

2.) Don't have LibreOffice with the JRE enabled by default. Java isn't very
important anymore; ntm it's sluggish and vulnerable.

Let me know if the changes to default configuration I am suggesting are unwise.
Operating System: All
Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
Last worked in: 3.6.5.2 release
