            Bug ID: 149211
Summary: Entry for "Object" in General Glossary needs
                    review/clarification
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Documentation
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: sdc.bla...@youmail.dk
                CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org

Here is the entry for "Object" in the General Glossary [1].

-------------------------------
Object

An object is a screen element containing data. It can refer to application
data, such as text or graphics.

Objects are independent and do not influence each other. Any object containing
data can be assigned certain commands. For example, a graphic object has
commands for image editing and a spreadsheet contains calculation commands.

------------------------

1. It is hard to understand what this entry means.

2. It is unclear if it is referring (at all) to images, shapes, textboxes,
frames, and OLE objects -- where the Help pages are often using the term
"object" as a "general" or "generic" term for referring to those different
elements.

3. It seems important to improve that entry, especially given that the first
two sentences of the General Glossary are:

This glossary includes explanations of some of the most important terms
you will come across in LibreOffice.

Use the glossary to look up unfamiliar terms found in any LibreOffice
    application.
