Named destinations are what allows your browser to point to a specific section of the PDF, such as in: $ firefox lorem_ipsum.pdf#Sodales2520posuere2520metus2520id I don't think there's a way to view named destinations with Acrobat Reader. In LibreOffice Writer, the exporter option “Export outline as named destinations” generates named destinations from the document's “Bookmarks” (c.f. screenshot), not from its “Headings”.
