I suggested testing the three configurations:

1) Skia on, "force skia software rendering" on (which means your About dialog
should say "Skia/Raster")
2) Skia on, "force Skia software rendering" off (which means your About dialog
should says "Skia/Vulkan" if you have a graphics card)
3) Skia off

Because the upgrade to Windows 11 improved things, and because the crashes were
happening with cropping too, I'll just mark this one as a "resolved - works for
me" and keep the scroll crash as a "see also".
