I wonder, if this would help: there is now integrated functionality to connect
to the Extensions & Templates site from within LibreOffice itself. See:
https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/shared/guide/template_manager.html

Note: you need to open a LibreOffice application first (this will not work from
Start Center). Then, File - New - Templates - Manage - Extensions.

If you mean that LibreOffice developers should contribute to Authorea, I think
it might be unlikely.
