--- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote <vsfo...@libreoffice.org> ---
You have to deal with Widows, Orphans and Runts:

*Widow*: A paragraph-ending line that falls at the beginning of the following
page or column, thus separated from the rest of the text. (They have a past but
no future.)

*Orphan*: A paragraph-opening line that appears by itself at the bottom of a
page or column, thus separated from the rest of the text. (They have no past
but a future.)

*Runt*: Single, short word at the end of a paragraph.

This is manipulated via Paragrah style, from the 'Text flow' tab.

We don't do anything for *Runts*, but by default for bug 89714 [1] both the
*Widow* and the *Orphan* were set active to values of "2" instead of set "0".

Just verified with sample document that the two values are still being set and
the editshell correctly handles both widow and orphan paragraph lines.

Open attached sample Flat ODTs -- with Widow control, Orphan control, and
neither. Examine the widow, orphan and runt.

Then check your applied Paragraph Style(s), but to me behavior seems intact.
