Another reason the "Automatic" label is consistent: it is used for Writer's Paragraph > Alignment tab's Text-to-text alignment. We can use the "Automatic" label for both uno:CommonAlignHorizontalDefault and uno:CommonAlignVerticalDefault Regarding removing the vertical "Default" from the dropdown: it has its own UNO command, uno:CommonAlignVerticalDefault, and I just realised it is useful when switching Asian layout mode on and off, so that needs to stay.
