Thereby the text direction is often inherit from the layout environment of an object. If you need a different glyph orientation for a portion of text, you can use the settings in the 'Position' tab of the character properties. The preview icon can be improved. Implementation of a "stacked" writing-mode for paragraphs and for frames is missing. If you want such, please write an enhancement request.
