I don't see anything wrong with autofilter (LO 4.0.3.3 - Win7 Home 32bit).
Could you describe how you set autofilter?
I'm setting autofilter with below steps:
1. Select all columns which we want to set autofilter (assuming that first row
is column header/title)
2. Menu: Data > Filter > Autofilter
3. Set first filter to specified column
4. Set second filter to other column
5. View result as expected
