Dear QA community, I have just stumbled over the first comment to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52066 "FILEOPEN: RTF file opens with black boxes, ugly formatting" In this comment, Urmas <davian...@gmail.com> wrote:
> So that clown vmiklos cannot grasp the concept of multilingual fonts > in DOC/RTF after _more than a year_? Pathetic. > > Should we make a fundrasing to buy him a normal office suite > so he could practice? Please don't get me wrong: I don't want to blame Urmas, maybe he had a bad day. But I am really concerned about what the original bug reporter will think about us (LibreOffice, the developers, the QA volunteers) when the first reply he gets to his report is a comment of this kind. Additionally, whatever one thinks about the new RTF filters, I consider it as completely inappropriate to tell a developer a "clown" and to insult him personally. And this is not the only strange comment by Urmas. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52071 "FILEOPEN: The Greek codepage in styles of a RTF file" where Urmas claims: > Still, RTF support in LO is completely broken. DON'T USE IT. which is IMHO (a) wrong -- RTF support works quite well for me, at least, it is not "completely broken" -- and (b) damages the image of LibreOffice. Additionally, in the same short comment, Urmas even manages to insult the original reporter, too: > How the f..l is that Greek? Had you forgot physics lessons > from 6th grade? First I wanted to write to Urmas, but I then I wanted to ask you first what you all think what we should do. It is always difficult to built a working QA community, but easy to disturb or even to distroy it by such comments. Again: what do you think?
