Hi all,
at the ESC call 2012-08-09 we agreed that User Profile update related
bugs need more attention; we ran into some very serious last minute
problems with 3.6.0.
To avoid such problems in future we should try some measures:
a) If we recommend to try with renamed User Profile, we should always
encourage the reporter / user to save the old profile for investigation
by a developer.
b) All those bugs should be added to 'Depends on' of "Bug 43489 - [Task]
Incorrect behavior using existing User Profile for upgrade"

I will follow up all new bugs and contact developers whether they see a
chance to get information from contents of such a saved user profile or
whether anything else can be done with info of the bug report.
