I joined the session after the view-settings-in-flat-ODF was discussed. I will just add that the bug's presentation might have missed its main point, which is that view settings _themselves_ are potentially sensitive personal information. It doesn't matter whether they contain the author name or not; and if the user is not aware

* that view settings are saved in the document (rather than, say, in the app; or not at all), and/or * of how view settings may be exploited in certain situations to gain knowledge the user would not want disclosed

then they may not think of performing any "purging".

  * Apply vertical tabs design with large icons to dialogs with
    less than 6 tabs
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=167084
    + VT are nice even on dialogs with 2 tabs (Sahil, John, Mihai)
    + display are mostly widescreen (Mihai) and there is an option
      suggested to switch back to HT (Heiko)
    + icons are an attractor and make the dialogs more usable (Mihai)
    + word wrap might be necessary for l10n (Mihai)
    => do it
