Hey guys, we are currently discussing how to solve fdo#60215 [1] . Currently the plan for this is to switch the default in 4-0 to "Always Recalc" and remove the inherited number formats in master.
The plan to remove inherited number formats has several benefits. Inherited number formats are calculated during the interpretation step of formula calculation which makes them rely on a full recalculation. Additionally since they are not stored in the file they are an interoperability problem. Together with the fact that it also improves the interoperability with Excel and that it will simplify our code a lot we came to the conclusion that this is the best option until now.
