The same happens when you jump to the end of a row or column (ctrl+down/right).
Minor issue, maybe not a big deal to fix.
Code pointer:
The command for ctrl+end is uno:GoToEndOfData, SID_CURSORENDOFFILE, executing
pTabViewShell->MoveCursorEnd() in sc/source/ui/view/tabview3.cxx
