We discussed the topic in the design meeting.

My previous arguments are based on the false assumption that Apply Styles is
unrelated to Delete Tab/Spaces. In fact, if the paragraph begins with a tab and
Apply Styles is active this style adjusts automatically to Body Text, Hanging
Indent. If not, the tab will be deleted (unless the option is also off).

While I personally would favor simplicity with no weirdly overloaded functions,
we agree that the current behavior should be kept.
