But it is not a rectangle. It only looks like one on the screen, if you don't
pay attention. It's not even contiguous. And, most importantly - it is
essentially never a selection that is useful to the user.

It also changes if you change the window size.

If I am in a larger zoom level, and I select one (of many) shape and drag
diagonally, I will soon be in a state in which there are more shapes selected
than are currently fully in view. That can happen irrespective of this
multi-page selection behavior; you can get it even on a single-page document.
