I hope you know that the blue arrows are not just for fun; when you click on
them, you are changing focus/moving to the related cell, and you can repeat the
action, back and forth.

This sounds similar to the "Show active cell's references" extension I
mentioned above, except that currently the extension works for Precedents only
(and you can click on them, with similar/partial results as clicking on the
blue arrow).

Perhaps having an equivalent for Dependents might help the performance issue
for complex workbooks – I imagine that it would take some time anyway in order
to build the list of Dependents, but maybe the time/resources to _display_ the
list (as the extension does for Precedents) is lower than the time/resources
needed to display so many blue arrows?

FWIW, I would not eliminate the current blue arrows method, as many users
depend on it for evaluation / debugging of spreadsheets.

We (users) are aware of the lack of performance (and we've been suffering it
for years) and the inaccuracy of the arrows, but if so many of us have
requested an enhancement in tdf 63087 and its duplicates, just imagine what
would happen if you eliminate the arrows completely :-O).
