-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 This is getting too off-topic, but the idea of giving an author exclusive control over their work is one that needs to be justified and not accepted blindly. Copyright is indeed an issue in basically all cases. It hampers culture and progress and provides power imbalances, and all around should indeed be abolished as long as we have better mechanisms in place like mandatory-source-release, DRM-prohibition, and Basic Income Guarantee.
I really won't take this list to go further in this debate, but consider this: http://blog.ninapaley.com/2013/12/07/make-art-not-law-2/ And I just want to be clear that I'm 100% conscious of what I'm saying when I suggest copyright abolition (along with the other things that protect software and cultural freedom, and ideally other mechanisms to provide effective economic support — such as Snowdrift.coop, the project I'm working on).
