Ditto.
When Ive had problems like this previously, I tried for ages to find
something to fix it, but the nearest that I could get was seriously crippled
software that ran under windows Slooowwwwwllllyyyyyyy and then only
retrieved 10 files each time it was run.

Exactly.
Most of the time you can get away with it, but then its not a perfect
solution. Mind you, you shouldnt have deleteed the files in the first place,
but you dont need me to tell you that. =O)
On ething Ive always found useful is to have multiple partitions, with all
important data stored well away from windows.

I gave up looking, figured that no-one made this software, and went and
found Norton Utilities 4.0
Quite a handy package, has got a DOS undelete (works great!), DOS
unformatter (save me a few times too, long story), and various other windows
utils including a deletion program that supposedly makes it impossible to
retrieve the file. Use with caution =O)
