Looking forward to meeting you! If Patchogue is not convenient I would try to meet
you in Port Jeff at the ferry. Let me know when you're coming through, I have a
friend who would like to meet you too

 They have transponder

Ewwwww. See, analog and digital phones, even in the same family such as StarTac, have
different cables. And very definately the cables aren't just adapters. Digital phones
and analog have very proprietary connectors.

The $130 ( OUCH ) cable for my digital StarTac seems to be a modem which connects the
serial port to the phone. Yes, I meant that. It's a modem that uses the StarTac to
get to the phone line. So, the best idea is to pick your favorite phone and pony up
the money for their very special cable.

I will report pretty good results with Bell Telephone... uh... New York Telephone...
uh... NYNEX Mobile... uh... Bell Atlantic... uh... Verizon Wireless' digital data
service. They have their own ISP for you to use ( or feel free to use your own ), and
I connect at 19,200 typically.

Nothing like Japan's handphones which slip into a PCMCIA socket and give you 57,600.
Oh well,
