Subject: Restoring Hibernation mode and English Utilities?

So my shiny, new 1100v (thanks dynamism.com!) is mostly set up and working.
Finally got it to recognize my network card (by buying a new one -- it
likes this Linksys Network Anywhere 10/100 16-bit card *much* better than
the previous NetGear CardBus card). Got most of my must-have software
installed. A couple more programs to install, and then a "restore to
defaults" backup to do and I'm all set.

Which just leaves one little problem: Apparently, in the course of
installing US Win98SE, Dynamism wiped out the Hibernation partition. Does
anyone know how to recreate it so I can use Hibernation mode? I see the
"Enable Hibernation" checkbox in the Power Saver control panel applet, but
that doesn't seem to actually create the partition...

And then the open question. The Toshiba Hardware utility is, not
surprisingly, in Japanese, which makes it unreadable in English Windows.
Are the 110 "Accessories" and "Controls" from the Toshiba US website close
enough that I could use them instead, or would I be risking severe damage
to my machine?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

        S.
