David,
good to hear that those archives are not lost altogether.
Mail-archive.com could import archived messages under certain conditions.
http://www.mail-archive.com/faq.html#import
This list is already archived there as:
http://www.mail-archive.com/libretto%40basiclink.com/
The archiving started after 2000.04.01.
This archive is searchable.
For more flexible import service they recommend:

Apparently, the searchable archives that were hosted by Grant Taylor are no
longer available.
However, I did ask him for and received the TARball of the entire archive
before it went offline.
The data in the archives are being whipped up in several manners:
1) I'm reading through the 20,000+ messages and putting the relavent
information into my FAQ. 200 down, 19,800+ to go!
2) I'm looking into ways to have the archives hosted and made searchable again.
3) Long, long term, I've been thinking about creating a Libretto Information CD
that has advertisements, magazine articles, the archives, drivers, manuals, and
more all on one CD devoted to just the Liberttos. I've already got most of
this information sitting in various binders at home, on CDs, etc., so I figure
it wont' be too hard to assemble such a CD.
(in fact, my Libretto folder on my Libretto CD I have for personal use right
now pushes several hundred megabytes in size -- includes such boring things as
the spec. sheets for various compatible HDs, Japanese Libertto PDFs, images,
pictures, etc. etc.)
