I have successfully gotten my libretto 110 to use all 12 gig of an IBM
Travelstar DARA-212000 drive. This is a sweet 9.5 mm 12 gig drive
http://www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/diskdrdl/travel/25gs18gt12gndata.htm
Here's what I did .......
1) Got a Libretto 110 :)
2) Got an IBM Travelstar DARA-212000 drive 12 gig drive
3) Got a HP portable cd-writer drive (M820, 4x4x20 SCSI) with SCSI adapter
card. I love this drive, small, lightweight, fast, reliable, BUT, no
battery :(
4) take out Libretto 4.3 gig drive, insert IBM 12 gig
5) Download Ontrack Disk Manager (from the IBM site) and create a DM boot
floppy.
6) Use the DM boot floppy to partition and format the HD. I created just
ONE BIG 12 gig partition, I did NOTHING to reserve space for a hibernation
partition. I'm just following defaults here .......
7) Install Windows. I used a modified Toshiba recovery floppy disk,
basically I just added the DOS HP M820 CDROM drivers to the Toshiba recovery
floppy. Note, HP officially says the M820 only works with windows, but my
HP floppy had DOS drivers, so I used them and they worked fine.
8) The Libretto booted off the recovery floppy, recognized the M820, and
installed windows from the recovery CD.

Windows 98 works flawlessly, I see and use all 12 GIG. Yes, this system
hibernates fine. I just set Win98 to hibernate from the control pannel.
I have not had any problems, the Ontrack software worked just fine. Now I
can have 4 gigs of MP3's on my Libretto, and still have room for work stuff.
