I get the jist of this... but I'm not clear on the details.  Logically if 
the larger capacity battery is twice the maH rating, it should only last 
twice as long.  But somehow because of the chemistry and electronics, the 
smaller battery ends up lasting less than its rtated capacity, and the 
larger one longer, huh?

This is something I was guessing might be the case too.

Okay... that makes sense.  So is it still possible that a brand new Li-Ion 
battery for the 50CT may be more efficient than the old one that came with 
it when it was new?  That maybe the old 50CT may last longer on the new 
battery than the old one when it was new?
