  either is perfectly fine.  95 is lighter and runs faster with less RAM hog;
98 provides USB and gobbles up more RAM unless you strip it using 98lite.net. 
other than that, feed it RAM and it'll be fine.

  see my overclocking article on my site below.  about 90% success rate; 10%
have to undo or go run at 233Mhz instead - from about 15 cases.
