I'm not an X guru by any means - but the drivers for the 3.5/3.6 version 
live in a small group of servers, which should be selected when the X system 
is installed. That for the C&T65550 is in the SVGA server, which is in the 
RPMS directory (on Mandrake 7.1 CD) as XFree86-SVGA-3.3.6-14mdk.i586.rpm

If rpm (damn, can't remember the syntax) can't find it in the system, you 
can get it from the CD or the hard disc image. I can't recall what the file 
is called once it's installed.

Christian noted earlier that the version 4 stuff doesn't work with 50s and 
70s, so it may be that you installed a version 4?
