The 'cool down' I was referring to was with regards to some of the language that some of the politicians in the US were using as opposed to the contents of their messages or their foreign policy in general (which I know probably isn't something to discuss in a technical list like this). For instance describing people as having evil intent and performing evil acts is fine. Describing people as being the 'evil ones' starts to get religions and unnecessary IMHO (a bit like the superiority remark by the Italian government and the Crusade remark by the US government).
