  Yes.

  That's something else - set it up in the Power settings of Control Panel. 
You can pick either suspend to RAM or hibernate to DISK.

  If it's >8.4GB, then you'd better have left a space around the 1010-1040
cylinders (on my big Hitachi HD) or the 8.4GB boundary - that's where the
hibernation information is placed regardless on >8.4GB HDs.  for <8.4GB HDs,
