If its anything like the later Toshiba laptops then I don't like your chances ... the 
later ones use the operating system to help in the hibernation and write a file called 
toshiber.sys (check the extension) as the hibernation file onto the C drive ... you 
might have to be content with suspend (RAM still powered) under linux ... which isn't 
really so bad I guess ... hehe
