OK I posted this once but the webmail interface crashed ... sorry if this
comes through twice!

I've had great success running a Bromax (a division of Kingmax) iPort
(dongleless) 10/100 16bit PCMCIA NIC in my L50 under Red Hat Linux 6.2 ...
they even have Linux drivers for download on their website plus pretty good
instructions on how to install them (compared to most Linux docs at least).
The drivers aren't RedHat specific (I get the feeling it was written with
Slackware in mind as they do make some comments about it in one of the
docs). They're actually the reference Realtek drivers for the chip in that
card, plus some tweaked config stuff by the Bromax people. Make sure you
don't get the cardbus version as your L50 has no cardbus (the cardbus
version works well under Linux on an L100 though ...).

Make sure you download the latest modules for PCMCIA though otherwise very
little tends to work ... also I can't remember if I had to patch the kernel
twice (I installed about 3 things at once, and had to patch the kernel
twice) ... don't try to patch the kernel twice with the same file or things
start going pear shaped.

If your L50 under Linux has no connectivity, how are you posting this?
