One point - the reason for copying the windows CD to the hard drive is (a) because it almost certainly won't run from the parallel port once the install starts and (b) so that the OS doesn't insist on the CD being present if you want to do something really difficult, say changing a network card. You can erase the directory after installation if you need the disk space.
