 2.0/FireWire combo card headaches)

OK I've just tried this card with a DV camcorder (Panasonic, 4 pin self powered) and, surprise surprise, it works almost flawlessly in the Libby's internal slots and without the power adapter!

I say *almost* because there is one problem ... it drops frames like crazy! I drop about 80% of frames using AIST MovieDVSuite and about 60% of frames using the freeware DVCap utility.

Now I sort of expected this given the Libretto is horrendously underspecced for DV capture but I'm just wondering if anyone has had any better success with DV capturing on the Libretto anyway (I was entertaining the prospect of dumping low-quality versions of movies off the camcorder for emailing or the like but I'm getting the impression you can't really tell the DV camera to dump at a different quality ...). Anyone got any ideas?
