I'm using the latest 2.xx on my desktop, but haven't bothered to upgrade the Libretto because for me, never seem to see any playback differences between all the different versions they keep releasing -- old plays just as good as the new. Have looked at the FULL version as well as the latest 3 & 5 versions, but I'm the minimalist when it comes to MP3 players - just let me pick the songs I want to play, let me pause/play/ff/RW and that's about it. was even thinking about writing a slimmer mp3 player for myself just because I was still irritated at all the 'extras' they include I don't need after reading about the Winamp guy's history in some recent magazine (Inc? Rolling Stone?) article.... anyways, it works, so why change?... --- for me, win98se has never been a problem stability wise on my laptops or desktops. I simply install win98se, all the drivers, all the applications and utilities, adjust my settings, them make a Ghost backup and run it for years. Can't figure out why everyone is crashing so much.... ,) <grin><wink> anyways, that's a computer guy's life for you -- of course, my computers will listen to me and run when I'm around! w2k may help you a lot in stability if you're wanting to reduce crashes. see www.pcmag.com 2003 user reliability reports -> there's a link on one of their pages to a graphic picture that compares the stability and crashes of each system. (Mac's are the most crash-free....) Quite a few Libretto owners are running w2k, so it's useable to a good degree. XP on the other hand is a pig... ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
