I found that with Mandrake and the CT70 - the highest powered Lib I have, with a speed upgrade and a big disk and the full memory I could get, I could get Mandrake up to 8.1 loaded; but I had to use text mode as there was insufficient memory to do the GUI load. ISTR the quickest way to get it running was with the HD install, though I've used PCMCIA install as well with a non-booting CD and a floppy. Needed two PC slots though. For my money, on the 70 Mandrake 7.1 was the best option by far, running kde apps on IceWm.
