I'm not familiar with Farstone but I'd recommend
trying the free Daemon-Tools (www.daemon-tools.cc). 
The downside is it doesn't compress images like Norton
Virtual Drive (which I had a few years ago) but the
upside is that it mounts most common CD image formats
[.iso, .ccd (CloneCD), .nrg (Nero), etc.].
