this is specific to the controller. I haven't looked
at this one so don't know but do know in this kind of
situation it can be done with all controllers.

places that sell digital logic like mouser or digikey.
just search there in the catalog for 'buffer ic'.

that's basically how its done if it needs a stable
voltage somethings it neds a pulse or pulses.

that's all they come in is one chip.

switching it on in hardware is best otherwise you need
a software driver.
