Subject: Re: [LIB] 70ct won't format HDD

1. At the minimum, once the new HD is inserted into the Libretto, if you use
Windows 98SE or DOS 6.xx fdisk & format, you should see only the first 800 MB
or so of the HD, and be able to format that.

Here, you will want fdisk to delete all prior partitions that exist on the
drive, then use fdisk to create a new primary active bootable partition.

2. To see the entire HD, usually, most people will need to use EZ-Drive or
another disk management program under DOS. Install this first, have it active,
reboot, and continue with fdisk (which will now see the entire HD size), and
format.

3. You can also use Linux disk tools.

4. It should work! No reason at all why you can't see the entire HD and use it
correctly as long as the disk is properly formatted and fdisk'd with a disk
manager installed.

5. Shouldn't be the case of cables - that's only needed to reduce cross talk
interference in systems with longer cable runs with fast HDs. With the
Libretto's direct pin to pin connection, there is nothing here to worry about.
