  Win98SE or Win 2000.  Both will run fine.  I'm running 98SE here with Mozilla
and various other apps just fine on a L110.  You may need 2000 for better
stability, hibernation, driver compatibility, etc., but other than that, both
can run years w/o a problem.

  Office 97 is the lightest version that's compatible with the latest 2003
releases.  It's a smaller install than any of the later ones naturally, and
you'll notice it'll perform better on 64MB RAM.

  Dual boot is always an option, and I do it here, too as well as many other
people.  But honestly, unless you want something like I have (98SE English +
98SE Japanese to sync with older Sharp MI-506DC and Franklin Rex Pro), then
simply Win2000 will generally cover everything + multi-lingual capabilities
quiet well.
