What?????
Hernn...
John has been working on the problem of putting more memory, a different motherboard, and now I guess better heat control into a Libretto for some time at this point. From what I undserstand from his posts, it all >should< be possible in theory. But as far as I can seen from his posts on the subject, he has yet to get the necessary parts, install them, and get it all working.
And John... I still have a few comments to add on the dicussion you had been having with Raymond on hibernation, and where a Libretto will write hibernation data onto a hard drive. It seems you have determined that it should be possible for Win2K to override the 100/110 Libby's native BIOS/CMOS calls, and have the system write hibernation data to the end of the HDD. If that's true, I'd still like to see you perform a test as David Chien, Raymond, myself and others have outlined.
But I can tell you with 100% certainty that if we're talking about Windows 98(SE) on a Libretto, it's >always< going to hibernate at the 8GB boundry on a HDD. Unlike yourself from what I've gathered from your posts, I >have< done the tests, and have confirmed several times over the fact that the Libby is going to write hibernation data to that 8GB boundry if we're talking about Win98(SE) being loaded on the HDD.
Now again, I see the postential for your argument that Win2K may override the Libby BIOS/CMOS calls. But I've read no reports of anyone having successfully tested the theory.
And kudos to Raymond for his statesman-like diplomacy, understanding and sensitivity in addressing John's posts on the issue.
Matt

new 1 GHz motherboard, more memory, better heat control those are the main things I'm putting in mine.
