Rick,
My W2K CD is a stock original. I dl'd w2k sp2 from ms, and unpacked
it to a dir that I then burned to a cd. No change in the results. I tried
copying my nt5inf.cat from my desktop to a floppy and a cd, tried both when
the setup routine asked for it with no luck.
So I did the obvious(non-obvious?) thing and just started from
scratch, re-formatting and installing using the bootdisk method. Guess
what? Complete success!!! I'm sufing the net wirelessly and writing this
in Outlook on the 110ct!! C'est la vie! Thanks for all your help and
handholding folks, especially Rick.
Cheers,
Jim !
