Subject: RE: Lib 110ct - Getting USB on EPR to work
Hi, folks,
Thanks, folks, for all your replies. Chris, that seems to be the
thing. I found a Cardbus USB PCMCIA card, and I popped it into the
110(without the EPR). The whole "New hardware found" thing started to
happen, and eventually it settled down and I could use the mouse plugged in
to the PCMCIA card just fine. Then I shut down, set the Lib into the EPR,
and rebooted. When it got to the desktop, the whole new hardware thing
started again, this time for the EPR USB port. And I now have my mouse
plugged into the EPR and working fine(wheel and everything.)
So, the moral of the story seems to be, have all your hardware
connected on OS install so it can be detected and installed. For those who
asked, no USB stuff was in the device manager at first.
Sincerely,
Jim Hanak

Subject: RE: [LIB] Lib 110ct - Getting USB on EPR to work
Hi Jim,
I did a clean Win2k install a few weeks back with the Lib in the EPR all the
time and USB came up with no problems, no need to install drivers. I'm using
v8.00 bios, not sure if that is relevant to USB.
My device manger shows:
Universal Serial Bus Controllers
- NEC PCI to Open Host Controller
- USB Root Hub
If those are there the maybe its worth testing with another USB device if
you have one?
HTH, Chris
