Does your Port replicator give you the same problems when you plug in
external monitor / keyboard / mouse / printer / serial device? If not,
this suggests the port on the Libretto is OK and the problem is in the
EPR. If you also have trouble with the replicator, the problem is in the
Libretto.

Hey Dick,

No... I've never had any problems with any of the other ports in the EPR.... only the PCMCIA ports. Though perhaps I should test them again. It's been a while. I really only have been using the PS/2 mouse port for the most part.

I'm sure my Libbys (100... & 100 now... thanks Matt!) are fine in that respect. It's obviously something internal to the EPR related to the PCMCIA ports, but I've never really tried to nail it down.

I thought it could be a problem with oxidized contacts in th 3 PCMCIA sockets. Thus the contact cleaner idea. But I really suspect something wrong woith the internal circuitry.

Matt
