The memory module is probably a good culprit. A bad hard drive shouldn't
permanently freeze the machine in the bios (toshiba screen), though it might
make it hang there for awhile. Try going into the bios setup and staying
there for awhile...if it freezes there, it pretty much has to be a problem
with the memory, CPU, or motherboard.

From time to time on Ebay, people sell bare working 100/110ct motherboards.
It's much cheaper than buying a new Libby, so if you still want one you
might consider that.

100 MBs are easy to find for $50. However didn't find 110 MBs easy to locate. I had LibrettoSource hunt around for one that I bought for $100 with no guarantee other than not being DOA. It had BIOS problems from the day it arrived, and dies in 4 months.
