See for the nitty gritty here: http://www.fixup.net/tips/20gb/20gb.htm Where to buy, check your local store or search the Internet ;-) > 2. Can I increase the memory from 32.0MB? you can increase to 64Mb by getting a memory upgrade. find one on ebay. > 3. Can I safely "overclock" the 110CT? Where can the how-to be found? Yes, to 266MHz. See http://www.fixup.net/tips/l100266.htm > 4. Can I upgrade to WinXP without too much slowdown? In my personal opinion yes. You have to tweak XP a bit by stopping certain services. My personal experience is that it is even more stable than W2K. W2K is very stable and very quiet in comparisment to Win98. I usually hibernate the Libretto since starting up does take more time. I don't use viruscanner and have disabled the firewall as I usually don't connect it on the internet except for windows updates. Then of course I do enable the firewall. > 5. Can I upgrade to Linux (what flavour) whithout too much slowdown? I had Mandrake 9.0 (2.4 kernel) running for a while with not much problems. This is one of the distro's that can boot and install from HD with 1 floppy. I also tried Gentoo (2.6) using another computer to bootstrap and to compile. I used a stage 3 in order not to compile everything. I haven't tried linux for while. > 6. Can I run an app to give me multiple OS options at boot? > What app is recomended? Yes. Linux Grub or lilo or even the windows bootloader will work. Personally: I've two libretto's one for XP and one for linux. True dual boot :-) > 7.
