HEAD/branch-2-0 currently broken

Just FYI: there is some breakage in HEAD/branch-2-0 which prevents it
from creating shared libs on linux-x86 (at least), due to one of my
recently checked-in patches.

Will look into it tomorrow unless beaten to..
