  configure CONFIG_SITE=
should do as well.

Hmm.  Would an MSYS update be able to overwrite/replace/remove it?
(Yes, I know next to nothing about MSYS, sorry.)

Hmm.  Both of these are problematic, at least.  Even without using MSVC.
