What happens if you set LIBS to '-L/dstc/lib -lxml2 -lz -lpthread -lm - -lgdbm' ?
Can you do a link, which gives the bad dependency_libs, with sh -x, redirecting the output to a logfile (stdout and stderr) and send it to me (or put it somewhere on the web).
Can't guarantee anything, but I'll probably be able to look at it in the next few days.
